Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is completely true and fully inspired by God. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for humanity. Scripture is useful for teaching, correcting, and training in righteousness. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe in one, all-knowing, all-powerful God. He created all things. He exists eternally outside of creation. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 40:28)

We believe that God has eternally existed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 3:16-17, Colossians 1:12-19)

We believe in God the Father who sent His Son to redeem humanity. (John 3:16)

We believe that Jesus is the Savior of all people, fully God and fully man. We believe He was sinless in every way. He died in our place, and was resurrected, defeating death. He ascended to Heaven and will return in glory. (Matthew 1:20, John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:2-7, Mark 16:19, Matthew 16:27).

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who dwells in those who have been redeemed by Christ. He is our counselor, comforter, and advocate. He guides believers into all truth, and empowers them for service and Christ-like living. (John 15:26; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Ephesians 1:18; John 16:13)

We believe that humanity was created in the image and likeness of God,

but inherited a sinful nature because of Adam’s disobedience and rebellion.

Therefore we are sinners. Even our best attempts are not enough.

The consequence of sin is eternal separation from God. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:10; Romans 2:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe salvation can only come by depending on Jesus’ sacrifice as a substitute, taking the punishment for our sinful life. There is no other way to God except through Jesus. His death is enough to save everyone and salvation is a free gift. Salvation requires an individual to turn towards Jesus, turn away from their sins, and surrender to His authority. (Romans 3:23, 5:8-21, 2 Corinthians 5:15, Galatians 3:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 1:9)

We believe baptism is an outward sign and public profession of an inward salvation experience. It symbolizes dying to sin, and resurrection to newness of life. (Romans 6:3-6, 1 Peter 3:21)

We believe that the Lord’s Supper (Communion) is a symbol of the body and blood of Jesus. It is done in memory of His sacrifice, and proclaims His death until He comes back. (1 Corinthians 11:22-30)

We believe that followers of Jesus, in all times and places, exist to reflect God’s glory on the earth. They proclaim the message of salvation in Jesus; and display through their love and unity a vision of God’s plan for the world. (Matthew 5:14, John 17:20-26, Ephesians 4:2-6, Philippians 2:1-4)
